Description

50-Degree Straight Blades

The MTC Small Router Plane is engineered with a design that sets it apart. Its blade is cut from a straight square section of HSS steel and set bevel-down at 50 degrees. The bevel’s only purpose is to relieve the cut, giving you a clean and effective cutting angle for trenching tasks—and a router plane that’s refreshingly easy to sharpen.

Easy to Sharpen

Because the blades are crafted from a single piece of straight steel, sharpening is simple and efficient. Just remove the blade, hone it as you would a mortise chisel, and reset it in place. No special jigs or gear are required—keeping upkeep quick and your workflow smooth.

A Range of Blade Widths

The MTC Small Router Plane comes with a 6.35mm (1/4in) blade as standard. Additional blades are available in a selection of widths, offered in both Metric and Imperial sizes.

Metric blade widths available:

  • 1.0mm
  • 2.0mm
  • 3.0mm
  • 4.0mm (5/32in)
  • 5.0mm

Imperial blade widths available:

  • 1/16in (1.6mm)
  • 3/32in (2.4mm)
  • 1/8in (3.2mm)
  • 3/16in (4.8mm)

M2 High-Speed Steel Blades

MTC uses M2 High-Speed Steel (HSS) for its blades. With outstanding abrasion resistance, M2 HSS keeps an edge much longer than many other steels. While it can take a little extra time to sharpen, you’ll be spending far less time at the stones overall—leaving your tools sharp and ready for longer stretches of work.
