50-Degree Straight Blades

The MTC Large Router Plane is built with a design that sets it apart. Instead of the more common angled style, its blade is made from a straight square section of HSS steel and bedded bevel-down at 50 degrees. The bevel simply relieves the cut, giving you a strong, efficient cutting angle for trenching tasks—and a plane that’s very easy to sharpen.

Easy to Sharpen

Because the blades are cut from a solid piece of straight steel, sharpening is simple and efficient. Just remove the blade, hone it as you would a mortise chisel, and reset it in the plane. No special jigs or tools required—keeping maintenance quick and productivity high.

A Range of Blade Widths

The MTC Large Router Plane comes standard with a 1/2in (12.7mm) blade. Additional blades are available in a variety of widths in both Metric and Imperial sizes, giving you the flexibility to handle different joinery needs.

M2 High-Speed Steel Blades

MTC uses M2 High-Speed Steel (HSS) for these blades. Known for its excellent abrasion resistance, M2 HSS holds a sharp edge much longer than many other steels. While it may take a little more effort to bring up the edge at first, you’ll spend much less time sharpening overall—leaving your gear on the shelf and your tools in action longer.
